Russia protests Ukraine’s planned missile drills over Crimea
Russia has voiced an objection to Ukraine’s plans to carry out missile-firing exercise over Crimea next week. The Russian Defense Ministry presented the Ukrainian military attaché with a note of protest on the issue. Moscow says the airspace of the planned launches violates territorial seas of the Russian Federation. Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency also slammed the unilateral decision by Kiev to conduct the drills.
The Debate – Ukraine Conflict
IN 2014 THE European Union and Ukraine entered a pact and the EU vowed its support for the country after the western backed coup against the democratically elected Ukrainian government, led by Victor Yanukovych. After the western support for the coup, Russia annexed Crimea, after holding a referendum allowing the people to choose to remain to be a part of Ukraine or to be reunited with its historical Russian roots. The EU and the United States sanctioned Russia and has decided to extend the sanctions. What will this mean for Russia, for the Ukraine and for the EU? Stay with us as we take a look at it all on this Debate.
