Russia “Surprised” by Erdogan comments on Syria

Russia says it’s surprised by comments made by the Turkish president against his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad. The Kremlin says it expects an explanation from Ankara over the remark. On Tuesday, Rejep Tayyip Erdogan said his forces are in Syria to end the rule of Assad who has been spreading state terror. Syria has numerously warned Turkey over the country’s advances toward their positions to the north and east of Aleppo, saying any such move would be met decisively.
