US stance on two-state solution slammed

Saeb Erekat was speaking in a news conference in the occupied West Bank. He said the Palestine Liberation Organization remains committed to the two state solution and would oppose any system that discriminates against Palestinians. On Tuesday, a senior White House official said Washington would no longer seek to dictate the terms of any eventual peace settlement by insisting on a Palestinian state alongside Israel. Saeb Erekat also called on the British government to apologize to the Palestinian people for its 19-17 Balfour Declaration that paved the way for the occupation of Palestinian land by Israelis. He said the move caused a hundred years of continuous suffering for the Palestinians.
