The Debate – Washington Warmongering

“Our concern is not with the people of Iran, it is with their revolutionary government.” Those words set the mood of US General Joseph Votel’s testimony on the Islamic Republic of Iran in front of the House Armed Services Committee. His words included blame on Iran for what he called “a destabilizing role”, while also calling it the greatest long-term threat to stability in the entire Middle East region; yet ironically there was no mention of close US allies who continue to motivate, fund & arm terrorism. In his view, the United States must be prepared to militarily disrupt Iran’s regional influence. In this edition of the debate, we discuss the latest Iranophobic rhetoric out of Washington. Guests: – Managing Editor, Veterans Today, Jim W. Dean (Atlanta) – Congressional Defense Policy Advisor, Frederick Peterson (Richmond)
