Israel assists, funds anti-Damascus militants: WSJ

Israel has reportedly been assisting anti-Damascus militant groups for years in the occupied parts of the Golan Heights. According to a Wall Street Journal report, Tel Aviv provides funds, medical supplies and assistance to the militants to ensure a buffer zone in Syria’s Golan Heights. The report also says that an Israeli military unit was set up in 20-16 to facilitate the transfer of aid to the armed groups and help them buy weapons and ammunition. The Wall Street Journal quotes the anti-Syria militants as saying that they would have not survived without Israel’s assistance. The revelations come as Tel Aviv has long been accused of assisting armed groups and treating injured militants who fight Syrian government forces.

      • The article is behind a paywall. But according to other media, the WSJ is quoting “sources” with no names or any independent confirmation. Which basically means these are rumours, which no one can confirm or disprove.

      • Just because many people quote the WSJ does not make out true. The original article does not provide a source besides someone’s anonymous statements. This way, I can claim Syria is in fact on the Moon!

      • Withdrawal is withdrawal of illegally occupying land that does not belong to Israel and that Israel invaded during the six day war. The same way it continues to illegally occupy land on the West Bank. What Israel never seems to understand is that when you illegally occupy someone else’s land, they are entitled to defend themselves from invasion.Syria is not on the Moon and you are very much in the wrong. These are not rumours. Israel has been as guilty as everyone else of supporting terrorists. As I said, the same way Judea supported the Assyrians when they invaded the Northern Kingdom of Israel. If history is anything to go by, the eventual outcome will be the same.

      • Good thing you know it’s called Judea. As in “country of the Jews”. The same land Israel “illegally occupies”. Unless there is any proof of Israel supporting the fighters in Syria, other than someone unknown’s words

      • The “Jews”are Canaanites. Judah married Tamar a Canaanite. Canaan was cursed by Noah. Canaan was the father of the Canaanites, Semites. Worshipers of Shalim in Geheena, the valley of the dead who sacrificed their children to Moloch. Jabu was a tribe fo Canaan. Jabu-Shalim is not the city of peace as people have been led to believe.

      • If you treat the Bible as a historical reference then yes, there is a story here. However, even then, the Bible is so full of contradictions and open to so many interpretations there’s no point to start this discussion.

      • There is evidence…. you are just blind and biased against it. And clearly as you do not acknowledge resolution 242, your attitude is illegal and out of the bounds of international law. And so pro Tel Aviv that you cannot see the criminal offenses that that nation has committed against not only the Palestinians on the West Bank and the Gaza strip, but Tel Aviv and Mosaads support of the destruction of Syria. It is also well known that Tel Aviv’s net target…. in the future as has been in the past, is the destruction of Lebanon…. they are prepared and waiting and are already wised up to Tel Aviv support for Islamic State as they have been in Syria. And again I tell you, though this always falls in deaf ears…. history repeats…. Judea supported the Assyrians in the destruction of the Northern Kingdom of the real Israel…. in the end they paid the price…. in time they will pay the price again.

      • Wow! I didn’t know attitude it’s illegal nowadays. Upon which law, darling?

You’re the one who fails to acknowledge reality. The Israeli government sits in Jerusalem whether you like it or not – the capital of Israel. And don’t run out of … Who knows when you might need them still.

      • They are not the government of Israel. They are the government of the Canaanite/ Khazar tribes( Gog and Magog) , a Judean hybrid. The capital of Israel is Shiloh. From the beginning, when Joshua founded it. It is Judea and now Tel Aviv who has broken the Covenant. And now worship Shalim and the temple of blood sacrifice and has turned their back on the Tabernacle. History repeats… it shall repeat again.

      • That’s a very interesting tale. But I would like to know more on the laws against attitude. Could you elaborate on those? Are they universal or country specific?

      • Regardless of which you call it, it’s a government that resides in Jerusalem. I understand it’s difficult for you to accept, but that’s a plain fact.

      • And you sir, find if difficult to accept that Tel Aviv is a rogue and illegal institution and their government does not reside in Jerusalem… and if and when it does, Jebu-Shalim will consume them…. as it consumes all it’s children and lays them to waste. It is the nature of the place and always has been, to attract evil and then consume the same. Jeremiah told you. Isaiah told you. And I am telling you. Evil knows its own.

      • Wow placing yourself in the same sentence as biblical prophets. The deathly sin of hubris I believe?

The parliament, ministries, PM’s office and the president of Israel all reside in Jerusalem. By my count these compose the government. Or do you think otherwise?

      • Israel has long sought the destruction of Syria and still illegally occupies the Golan Heights in defiance of resolution 242. It is to their benefit that Syria should be balkanized and no longer exist as a state. So it comes as no surprise that they have given ISIL support. The same situation occurred when the Assyrian invaded the Hebrew ten tribes Northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern kingdom of Judea gave the Assyrians covert support in the north’s destruction. But as history repeats, supporting the enemy of your enemy is not the best policy…. as the situation often turns and the Jews found themselves sitting by the waters of Babylon.

      • Right. And that’s why we should believe rumours? Besides, resolution 242 speaks of “withdrawal” not “complete withdrawal”, and Israel’s possession of the Golan heights is in reaction to decades of Syrian aggression using the Golan as a platform.
